So, sadly, Astor’s mom had to relinquish him so that we could find a home that was a better match for him. Unfortunately, Astor did not adjust well to the move and recently management there determined that Astor was no longer welcome due to the defensiveness of his owner when the staff came into the apartment. Five years ago Astor was adopted from the YCSPCA by a nice older lady who subsequently moved with Astor into a “pet-friendly” retirement community.
He loves his people and is pretty darn cute with his little walk and smile. He is a little character who is not afraid to ask for what he wants. I would say a retiree, a family with older than 8 year aged kids, single adult wanting a loyal companion. Hope not to scare you off because she is very loving and well behaved except for wanting me to herself. IF toys are left on the ground they could become a dog toy. Has been happy with kids around however they should be old enough to understand that if Katie has a treat, chew or toy that it is hers. Katie does well with her potty, leash, car ride skills. I pulled her because her photo was so sad. Katie is a 3 year old female from Bakersfield. Katie is a bit witchy with my large female. I have 8 dogs total here and most are fosters. She loves Trixie and doesn't mind sharing much with her. She and my own male have the same mindset but only one of me so I would recommend her as an only dog Not that she can't get along with other dogs but it is difficult to keep them safe if she is not a fan of the other dog. Katie has many good qualities but let me tell you the red flag here and now She is very much wants all the attention for herself. Doesn't seem fearful of anything else, loves to go on a car ride. Has been good but a little shy with men but not with women. Tommy would be very happy as the only dog. HE LOVES Massages as you see in the short video. Gets up every time I get up to see what I might be doing he might want to do also. Tommy is very mellow, barks rarely, Sleeps in a dog bed next to my bed. Always happy and when he sees me he runs in circles so happy to have me home. HE could not be more ready for a loving home now.
